These crispy fried sticks are ready for the table in about 20 minutes and are sure to please the whole family.
I like cod because it’s a mild white fish with a firm texture. It is high in protein and loaded with B vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients to Make Crispy Fish Sticks
- cod fillets , or whatever fish you want to use
- breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper
- olive oil
How to Make Crispy Fried Cod Fish Sticks
Cut the fish into 8-10 equal pieces and pat with a paper towel. Then lightly season with salt and pepper.
Beat the eggs in a bowl. Then, dunk each piece through the beaten eggs and finally press it into the breadcrumbs.
If you want to have a thick layer of “batter” on your fish, you can double up on the breadcrumbs.
Heat some olive oil in a non-stick pan. After that, fry for a few minutes, until golden brown on both sides. Make sure there is enough space between all pieces, do not stack them!
If you overcrowd the pan, the fish will steam more than fry they won’t be as crispy.
Let the fish rest for 3-4 minutes after baking.
Serve the crispy fried fish sticks with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side, along with coleslaw and fries or roasted potatoes.
How to Store
Leftovers of crispy cod fish sticks can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
