Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I enjoy a delicious smoothie! Refreshing and convenient for a snack or breakfast, but buying them from a store can be costly. That’s why I prefer to make them at home. They are easy and with some organization can become a regular part of my day.

Create smoothies at home to use up any left-over fruit or veg, like those frozen, overripe bananas you can’t part with! Making your own smoothie also helps you control the sugar content, and stops you from being tricked into a ‘healthy’ snack with lots of calories.

Enjoy a delicious Strawberry Banana Smoothie made with just the natural sweetness from the strawberries, bananas, and your favorite milk!

Ingredients to Make Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Strawberry: For my strawberry banana smoothie, I like to use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and natural sweetness. If using frozen strawberries, make sure to thaw them before adding to the smoothie or it will be very thick.

Banana: I like using frozen bananas to make this smoothie thicker and to use up all of my overripe banana supply. If you’re not a fan of the flavor, you could substitute it with Greek yogurt for a similar texture and flavor.

Soy milk: I prefer the vanilla flavor of soy milk, but other milk such as almonds, cashew, oat, or regular milk can be used as substitutes.

Ice: For a thicker, less drinkable smoothie, omit the ice. Otherwise, filter and crush it to reduce the chances of chunks forming – any type of ice will do.

How To Make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Combine strawberries, bananas, milk, and ice cubes in a blender with the blade attachment to make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie.

For 30 seconds, pulse, then stir, and blend again until smooth and creamy. If too thick, thin with water or milk. If not thick enough, add more fruit. Once desired consistency is reached, pour into a glass and enjoy. If desired, garnish with banana and strawberry slices.

Storage and Freezing Instruction

Enjoy this Strawberry Banana Smoothie fresh for best results, but you can store it in the fridge for a few hours. Freeze it in an ice cube tray or freezer-safe container for later and re-blend before enjoying.
