How To Make Perfectly CRISPY Fried Shrimp
Prepare Shrimp
Rinse shrimp under cold water. Peel and devein shrimp. I keep the tails on, but you can choose to peel them off.
Marinade Shrimp and Make the Batter
Add the garlic and soy sauce to the peeled and deveined shrimp. Leave shrimp in the marinade for 20-30 minutes.
In a bowl, combine flour, egg, milk, salt, and cornstarch, the consistency of the batter should not be very thick or not too thin. Mix it well without lumps.
Note: If the batter is too thick, add a little bit of milk at a time to thin it out a little. If it’s thin, add a little more flour at a time to thicken.
Holding the prawn by the tails, dip in batter, lift shrimps from batter and let the excess batter drip off shrimp. Then roll shrimp in bread crumbs.
Place the shrimp on an empty plate and repeat this process with all the shrimp.
Add vegetable oil to a saucepan or a pan and over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes.
After that drop shrimp into the hot oil, and fry for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain shrimp on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
Serve Perfectly Crispy Fried Shrimp with your favorite sauce and lemon wedges. Enjoy!
