Ingredients to Make Panna Cotta
- Fresh strawberries
- Whole milk
- Gelatin powder
- Brown sugar
- Heavy cream
Tools I Used to Make This Recipe
- Food processor(blender). You can use a food processor or a blender to puree the strawberries.
- Sieve. This is needed to remove the seeds from the strawberries.
How to Make Strawberry Panna Cotta
Press the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove all the liquid. This will take some time.
This recipe does not only work with strawberries. You can use raspberries or blackberries instead. Or, in fact, a blend of berries!
Combine milk, cream, sugar, and gelatin, and let bloom for 5 min. Then, heat the mixture and stir to dissolve the gelatin and sugar.
Add the pureed strawberries and blend until combined.
Divide the mixture evenly between ramekins and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Or you can leave them overnight.
Enjoy!
Tips for Making This Panna Cotta Recipe
Don’t allow the mixture to boil. This breaks down the gelatin, and it will no longer be set properly.
You can change the flavor by using other berries, cherries, raspberries, or peaches.
Storing and Freezing
To store: Leftover panna cotta can be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3-4 days.
To freeze: I do not recommend freezing this dessert, as it doesn’t maintain a creamy, fluffy, and smooth texture.
