Ingredients

For the Yeast Dough:
  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • ¾ cup Warm water
  • 1 tsp Active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
For the Toppings:
  • ½ cup Tomato sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can Canned tuna (in oil or water)
  • 1 Shallots thinly sliced lengthwise
  • 1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)

Method

  1. Dough: Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5 minutes. Pour into whole wheat flour and salt, add olive oil. Knead by hand for 6–8 minutes and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Crust: Preheat oven to 410°F (Convection Bake / top-bottom heat with fan). Dust a baking sheet with flour or line with parchment paper. Place dough on top and stretch by hand, leaving the borders slightly thicker.
  3. Toppings: Spread tomato sauce over the crust and sprinkle with mozzarella. Thoroughly drain the tuna, flake it with a fork, and add to the pizza. Top with thinly sliced shallots and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Bake: Bake on the middle rack for exactly 10 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden brown.
