Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion peeled and finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled and minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 canned chopped tomatoes
  • 10 oz dried spaghetti
  • salt and black pepper to tasty
To serve
  • parsley     
  • grated parmesan

Method
 

  1. To start, heat up some oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat. Toss in the onion and stir occasionally for 5 minutes or until the onion softens. After that, add in the garlic and continue cooking for another minute.
  2. Start by adding the ground beef to the pan and let it cook for about 5-6 minutes until it turns brown. Make sure to stir frequently and use a spatula to break up any large chunks of meat.
  3. Heat the mixture until it reaches boiling point, then allow it to simmer vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the volume reduces by three-quarters.
  4. Include the oregano, thyme, and canned tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for around 15-20 minutes or until it thickens.
  5. As the water boils in a large pot, add a pinch of salt and the spaghetti. Allow it to cook for 10-12 minutes until it reaches the perfect al dente texture.
  6. Separate the spaghetti into 4 portions and strain itbefore placing it into individual bowls.
  7. Place the bolognese sauce over the spaghetti and add the chopped parsley and parmesan cheese as a final touch before serving.
